Abstract

This memorandum contains the text of a talk given at the E.E. Department Colloquium, May 3, 1950. The talk covers briefly: the need for storage in computation, the effect of storage characteristics on digital computer design, desirable storage characteristics, and the characteristics of existing storage devices suitable for digital computer use.
