Description
Designed in 1930s by Eric Marrett, third in a generation of architectsLocated on Raj Bhavan Road, this mansion was the official residence of the President of the Nizam’s Executive Council and may have been purpose-built. In 1956, it was renamed Raj Bhavan to confirm to the Sanskritization policy of the government. Successive chief ministers and governors of Andhra Pradesh occupied it while in tenure.
