dc.description | Literally, the shrine of two Yusufs, i.e. Hazrat Yusufuddin and Hazrat Sharifuddin. Hailing from Egypt and Syria respectively, the two Mughal soldiers came as part of an expeditionary force to the Deccan in early 18th century. Settling down in Nampally, Hyderabad, their humble dwelling eventually became the major dargah in the city upon their death in 1710. A diwan of Arkat built the dome over the graves in the reign of Nizam Ali Khan (1762-1803), measuring 22x4 feet. The poets Amir Minai, Dagh Dihlawi, and Fani Badayuni are among the famous buried in the Dargah cemetery. The dargah has a mosque, an ashur khanah, a samaa khanah, and a niyaz khanah. | en_US |
