Pictured clockwise from top left: Vincent Lunardi's first British ascent from the Artillery grounds on September 14, 1784, Johann Karl Enslen's Pegasus-shaped balloon launch, Blanchard and Jeffries' cross-Channel journey on January 7, 1785, Lunardi's second ascent on May 13, 1785 and the Montgolfier brothers' balloon. In the center is a representation of Thomas Baldwin's aeriel view of Chester from Lunardi's balloon.en_US
