Description
A sign saying "Barracón Juanita" at the site where people traveling between the Vaupés River (via Caño Yi) and the Papurí River basin (via headwaters of Paca River) spend the night. Jean Jackson requested the then-Comisario, Narciso Matus, to construct a shelter for the considerable number of people portaging between the 2 systems. Note the hanging trousers. 1970, Vaupés, Colombia
