aerial view, the park was built in 1975 around the remnants of the Seattle Gas Light Works gasification plant, which operated on the waterfront from 1906 to 1956. The old boilers were recycled and adapted for use as landscaping elements, and serve as a reminder to area residents' collective memory, 6/29/2001
