La société immobilière Balima, a firm of builders and developers responsible for dozens of the more important buildings in Rabat, was created by three friends in 1928, who named the company by combining the first to letters of their family names: Lucien Bardi, André Liorel and Louis Mathias. Among other things, this large building housed their offices, across from the parliament building on Avenue Mohammed V. It's bottom floors are large and open, suited too shops, restaurants, cafes, and even movie theaters. Upper stories are divided into apartments that are suitable for offices or even lodging. The facade is decorated with restrained use Maghrebi decorative motifs.
