Description
The old train station in Marrakesh was adjacent to the current station on Avenue Hassan II within walking distance of the center of the Gueliz District. Built during the French Protectorate, it opened in 1923 and was active until the new station went into commission in 2008. It was the terminus of the system until its expansion to Guelmim, Zagora, and into the Western Sahara. The new station is 100 meters closer to the city center, directly opposite the Royal Theater.
