dc.descriptionWhole families of architects, for example the Chambiges, appeared in the late 15th century, and ecclesiastical architecture was vigorously promoted. Secular architecture also revived. Of the numerous town houses constructed at the time, two survive in a restored condition: the hôtels of the abbots of Cluny (ca. 1490; now the Musée de Cluny) and of the archbishops of Sens (ca. 1474-1519). It now houses the Bibliothèque Forney devoted to decorative and fine arts, as well as industrial and craft techniques.
