| dc.description | Detail, children; Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys (17 April 1620-12 January 1700, feast day: January 12) was the founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame and teacher of children in Montreal. She opened her first school in 1658. She was recruited from France to teach in the New World by the governor of Montreal, Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve.
