Description
Bath is located on the square [maidan] of Ganj Ali Khan, reached through the bazaar. Arched entrance has figural tilework in the spandrels. Vaulted bath chambers are elaborately tiled with unique, mostly floral, designs not seen elsewhere in Iran. from "Kirman," : "while on the south there is an elaborate bath complex that incorporates earlier constructions and an octagonal cistern with dome chambers radiating from its sides. " [GDAO]Tilework in bath bears some resemblance to Iznik tiles, a connection which has not been explored yet by scholars. Susan Babaie of Univ. of Michigan is currently working on the Ganj Ali Khan complex. [E. Spettel]
