Description
Brick mosque in centre of Damghan, thoroughly integrated in city fabric and entered through passageways leading off narrow lanes. Minaret is Seljuq and dated 1058; fabric of mosque itself is mostly later, c. 19C. Courtyard with single ivan, no lavish tilework or stucco is extant. Passageway leads to winter prayer hall, with Qajar stucco work on ceiling. [cataloguer]
