Dating from the 1680s, the Kaman or arch of Chhatta Bazaar spans Diwan Dewdi in the south to Lakkad Kot in the north. The Nawbat Khanah, “drum room,” on the roof of the arch has three fine wooden windows opening on east and west. The room was used for beating drums signaling arrival and departure of dignitaries in the Qutb Shahi and the Nizams’ era.en_US
