Description
Illustration depicting the crash of Felix Nadar's balloon "Le Géant," which was caught in a violent storm during its second and final flight on October 19, 1863. The balloon is torn and tangled in the trees, the passenger car is resting on its side with men trying to right it and rescue a woman [Madame Nadar] trapped beneath. Other passengers watch, and an injured man sits to the side.
