Two articles: the first is from the April 4, 1840 issue of "The Mirror" and describes Charles Green's intended voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and the use of propellers and guide rope as a means of navigating a balloon. Due to an injury, Mr. Green never made the voyage. An accompanying illustration shows Green's balloon with attached steering mechanism and guide-rope. The Second article, dated February 24, 1838 shows a diagram of attaching propellers to the balloon itself, around its widest point, and includes a letter from the inventor about the device and the principle behind it.en_US
