Description
Illustration from Richard Owen Cambridge's satirical poem "The Scribleriad." In the image, a crowd is gathered to watch two aviators flying by means of different types of mechanical devices. The German is using a flying machine resembling that used by Besnier. One holds onto the other's legs. In the center of the crowd is a man with a six-legged, three-eyed cow.
