Description
Clipping with a description of the November 7, 1836 flight of the Royal Vauxhall Balloon (subsequently known as the Royal Nassau Balloon) from the English coast near Dover to Nassau, Germany. Included is the text of a letter written from Charles Green to Edward Spencer. An accompanying illustration shows Robert Hollond, T. Monck Mason, and Charles Green in the balloon with the caption: "The Royal Vauxhall Balloon/As it appeared at the time of starting for the Continent."
