Description
general view, model of the glass sails: the 12 glass sails are made of a total of 3,600 panes, each of identical dimensions, but with specific curvature. The unique nature of each pane represents a major innovation, and a break with existing design principles for faceted surfaces. The assembled panes give the sails and their curved shapes a natural, harmonious look, as if they were billowing in the wind. The panes are made up of two sheets of extra-clear glass plus a reflective film, and are screen-printed with a grid of small white dots that impart a chromatic unity to the building, giving it a cloud like appearance., 2017
