dc.description | Paved road outside of town, pedestrians, motorbikes and person carrying green crop on the back of a bicycle; Khajuraho is a popular tourist destination, due to the group of Hindu and Jain temples there, which are designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most of the 22 surviving Khajuraho temples were built between 950 and 1050 CE by the Chandela dynasty. There is a nearby railway station and airport and several Western style luxury chain hotels for tourists. The town itself is small.
