Corner with tower next to north main entrance; Once one of Bombay's best luxury hotels, the Majestic House [Hotel] is located at Wellington Fountain, just behind the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba. Designed in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style, it features two domed minarets at the entrance. It was built in 1909 with 96 bedrooms and two electric lifts by W. A. Chambers & Company who earlier completed the designs of the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel in 1903. It now houses a hostel for members of the legislative assembly, a basic canteen, and a department store on the ground floor. At present, the 289 members of the Assembly and 78 members of the Council are accommodated at the hostel. Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (accessed 9/1/2015)en_US
