Dome

Detail, looking into long hollow "hull"; Installed in 2008 for the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec, as part of the program for public art along the Promenade Samuel-De Champlain. Evoking the shape of a boat truncated into two parts, this work is intended as a nod to the maritime vocation of Quebec. The title of the work indicates the latitude and longitude of Blanc-Sablon, maritime gateway of the Laurentian coast of the Lower North Shore. This sculpture in steel, bronze and wood was previously installed near the Old Port Market in Old Quebec.
