"Restoring the river to Quebec" is the mandate that was given to the National Capital Commission Quebec for the realization of the Promenade Samuel-De Champlain. This was once one of the most degraded shoreline areas. The pavilions are made of rough sawn wood in celebration of the history of the timber industry in the area. They are shelters with a bench, water fountain and bike racks, situated between the bike path and the pedestrian path.
