Description
Two building blocks connected by outdoor elevated walkways; New construction of 17 units of low-income housing, located at the foot of pilings of the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the deck of which passes overhead. Martin Brière and Melinda Hart were the architects. This is the third project of the Coopérative d’habitation Au-Pied-du-Courant, a non-profit seeking to revitalize this area of the city and provide low-income housing to the residents. The site was long-vacant industrial land. The cooperative consists of two buildings connected by an internal passageway and by a courtyard garden and gateway system at ground level. There are 4 studio units, 6 two bedroom units and 5 three to four bedroom units. The outside has a bright yellow cladding and the interior stairwells are lime green.
