dc.description | Detail, painted surface; Gwendolan is one of the "Nanas" series of monumental female forms, begun in the 1960s; it was originally one of a series installed along the Leibnizufer in Hannover (1974). It is now installed in front of the Tinguely Museum, Basel, Switzerland. (There are multiple editions). The San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and the Port’s Public Art Committee has a program to both purchase and exhibit public art; this was part of that program. | en_US |
