Detail, heads of Ferry and teacher; Jules François Camille Ferry (1832 -1893) was a French statesman (44th and 49th Prime Minister of France) and republican. This monument celebrates his work establishing the non-clerical organization of public education including the establishment of French as the official language of the Republic.
