View of the administration office and central tower; Université de Montréal (UdeM) is a public francophone research university in Montreal. The university's main campus is located on the northern slope of Mont-Royal in the Outremont and Côte-des-Neiges boroughs. In 1924 Cormier was awarded the commission to design the new campus and buildings for the Université de Montréal (1928-1955). The vast, towered main building, his masterpiece, was a mega-building, which explains how Cormier created a new direction for campus architecture. He specialized in concrete and his architectural interpretation of the medium was advanced. The building houses the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the School of Public Health. Pavillon Roger-Gaudry also has multiple Research Units, a Health Library, the Library of Physics and Chemistry, a bookstore and a school shop and two large auditoriums.
