Bouleuterion or Council House, the marble altar at the center of the Bouleuterion (thought to have been built in the 2C BCE and decorated with wreaths tied with bull's heads); Priene was an ancient Greek city in W Asia Minor; under Roman & Byzantine rule before being subjugated by the Turks in the 13th century.
