Description
View of the remains of the Monument of Ptolemy II and Arsinoe (located in front of the Stoa of Echo - here stood gilded statues of the royal couple which were erected on top of two Ionic columns at a height of 10 meters); Excavations have shown that the embankment of the narrow western side of the stadium was truncated after the mid-4th century BCE, when the Echo Stoa was built, which entirely separated the stadium from the sanctuary.
