Close view of a sculptural support column of the Supreme Court, depicting curve and general treatment; The name is derived from the encounter of the three powers around the plaza; the Executive, represented by the Palácio do Planalto (presidential office); the Legislative represented by the Congresso Nacional (National Congress); and the Judiciary, represented by the Palácio da Justiça (Supremo Tribunal Federal). In between these imposing buildings there are several monuments and memorials, among which are the JK Museum, the National Pantheon (the dove-shaped Panteão da Pátria dedicated to Tancredo Neves) and various sculptures: the Candangos, by Bruno Giorgi; Justice, by Alfredo Ceschiatti, and Pombal ('dovecote'), by Oscar Niemeyer.
