dc.description | Side view of large access ramp/bridge of Itamarati Palace (Foreign Ministry) building; Also known as the Palace of the Arches, the Itamarati Palace (Ministry of External Relations [Foreign Affairs]) holds a wide variety of artworks and antiques. It is located in the Ministries Plateau. The building and its graceful columns are reflected in the surrounding lake, in one of which sits The Meteor, a white Carrara marble sculpture by Bruno Giorgi. The gardens designed by Burle Marx feature plants from the Amazon. With its glass walls, the Palace of the Arches, which is open to visitation Monday through Friday, is considered Brasília's most impressive palace.
