Description
General view, bell tower, from the southeast; S Maria in Via Lata emanates a grave monumentality. Here, in what is now the Via del Corso, Cortona had no space to produce scenographic effects. The planar façade consists of two storeys of the same width with a loggia at each level in the central part, separated from the end bays by pilasters in the lower storey and columns in the upper.
