Although Sangallo replaced him in this project as well, perhaps as early as 1521, Sansovino made one very significant contribution to the new church: he reversed its orientation to face the present-day Via del Corso rather than SS Apostoli. This showed a sensitivity to urban planning, which became a notable feature of Sansovino's Venetian career."
