Description
Located on the west side of Medan Merdeka at Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat No. 12. Museum was previously located in a Dutch colonial house and later at Majapahit No. 3 in an early 19th-century building. Popularly known as the Gedung Gajah (Elephant House) because of the bronze elephant statue in front of the museum, a gift from the King of Thailand in 1871.
