Town center, view of the square at the east end of Market Street; Celebration, Florida is a census-designated place and an unincorporated master-planned community in Osceola County in the U.S. state of Florida, near Walt Disney World Resort. It was developed by The Walt Disney Company. The idea for the Walt Disney Company to wholly develop a community stemmed from Walt Disney's Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT) concept. In the early 1990s, the Disney Development Company established the Celebration Company to spearhead its development within approximately 4,900 acres (20 square km) of land in the southern portion of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Total investment for the project is estimated at US$2.5 billion. Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (accessed 1/28/2008)
