Description
View of the center relief within the loggia; In 1886 Wagner had built his first villa at Hütteldorf [now a suburb], near Vienna. [Grove]. "Trained in the classical style, Wagner designed this symmetrical house for himself in the Palladian villa style. Gigantic columns define the entrance loggia with a coffered ceiling. Decorative iron balustrades line the staircases." Source: Digital Imaging Project, Mary Ann Sullivan, Bluffton University; http://www.bluffton.edu/~sullivanm/ (accessed 1/26/2008)
