Description
Contains images of historical and contemporary architecture in Iraq, both residential and monumental. Some focuses and themes that appear in the images are arcades (many examples), riverfront elevations, overhanging latticework windows (mashrabiyya), balconies, mosques, and porches. In addition to residential architecture in various regional styles, this binder includes images of several important monuments in Iraq, including the Freedom Monument (Nasb al-Hurriyya); photos of the demolition of Chadirji’s Unknown Soldier monument; Muradia Building; Central Secondary School – Baghdad; historic homes and fortifications in Arbil; Baghdad Gymnasium; unidentified buildings attributed to Doxiades; Arch of Khusraw at Ctesiphon (color).
