Illustration used as the frontispiece for "The Age of Intellect: Or Clerical Showfolk, and Wonderful Layfolk: A Series of Poetical Epistles Between Bob Blazon in Town, and Jack Jingle in the Country." The print depicts a satirical scene of clergy preaching to small groups and collecting money as admission to view cathedrals. Men on bicycles ride by and a boat with a British flag passes behind. A balloon carrying a whale flies above. Though attributed to Francis Moore, "The Age of Intellect" was published under a pseudonym, and the poems were likely written by William Hone.
