Description
Interview conducted with an MIT alumna as part of the Margaret MacVicar Memorial AMITA (Association of MIT Alumnae) Oral History Project. The purpose of the project is to document the life histories of women graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Content Note: This oral history contains a reference to Stanley McCormick's father Cyrus and his relation to McCormick Spices. Cyrus was the founder of McCormick Harvester, which was one of the largest companies in the U.S. for more than a century, and made the family among the wealthiest in the country. McCormick Spices is a completely separate, well-known consumer brand, but was never as large as McCormick Harvester, which became International Harvester, and was not the source of the McCormick's considerable fortune.
