Description
Issue of the Italian newspaper "La Tribuna Illustrata" with an article about an accident during a military balloon experiment at Monte Mario in Rome on June 14, 1899 (page 204). Photographs show the deflating balloon descending into a wooded area and Oreste Vacco, the soldier killed in the accident. A color illustration on the back cover shows the soldier falling out of the balloon and two soldiers in the balloon basket.
