Engraving showing John Hampton's safety parachute, in various phases from ascent with the balloon, to descent to landing, with the note that Hampton descended in his parachute on October 3, 1838 from Montpellier Gardens in Cheltenham and on June 13, 1839 at Baron de Berenger's Cremorne House, Chelsea.
