General view; The agitated and twisted external surfaces, creating effects of picturesque disorder, establish a dialectic relationship similar to that found in volcanic activity, between endogenic tension and external phenomena (lava flows, mountains of cinders). Somaini further reinforced the metaphor by moving from the heat processes of these works to cold metallic materials such as cast iron and iron conglomerate, with which he broke into the ranks of the Art Informel movement that dominated the 1950s.
