View of central entry way to lobby, center of the arch of the building; Situated in the northern part of Moscow, the enormous (1777 room) 25-storey Cosmos Hotel looms next to VDNKh Metro Station and the Soviet Space Obelisk monument. It was French-built in 1980. The Cosmos stands just across from the All-Russian Exhibiton Centre (V.V.C.), an impressive complex originally designed and built to demonstrate the great economic achievements of the Soviet regime. The hotel was built to help accommodate the 1980 (XXII) Olympics.
