Context view, showing the location of the entry within the small court; Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky (1893-1930) was a Russian poet and playwright, among the foremost representatives of early-20th century Russian Futurism. In 1974 a Russian State Museum of Mayakovsky was opened in the center of Moscow in the building where Mayakovsky resided from 1919 to 1930. The experimental structure of the museum itself, lovingly created by a group of Russian artists and opened in 1989, is a physical testament to the nonconformist futurism of Mayakovsky himself.
