Detail, center of the garden with newly planted trees, metal mister grids in ground with granite blocks and natural boulders; The cultural section of the project (Station des Quais), gathers four contemporary gardens inspired by the mood of the river; the Quai des brumes, the Quai des flots, the Quai des hommes and the Quai des vents. In Quai des brumes (Mist Dock), granite blocks and broadcasting mist machines recall the intimate atmosphere of the river banks. The misting system is comprised of four gutters with six piston powered pumps. A programmable controller sequences the misters and lighting and an anemometer also controls the operation of the system. If the wind becomes too strong, the pumps stop.
