Detail, center burnished bowl and rose; The sculpture was unveiled by President Mary McAleese on December 1, 2006, World Aids Day. Commissioned by the Rose Project (a relief organization), the sculpture represents the life of Rose Atieno who died of aids in 2003 in Kenya.
