The entablature; Metairie Cemetery was founded in 1872 as one of New Orleans above ground graveyards. There are many large scale monuments that reflect the range of nineteenth century "revival" styles including Greek Revival, Exotic revival, Egyptian Revival, Romanesque and Gothic Revival.
