General view, depicting front elevation; San Giorgio in Velabro is a basilica church in Rome, devoted to St. George and located on the ancient Roman Velabrum, near the Arch of Janus. The ancient Arcus Argentariorum is incorporated into the church's front facade. The current basilica was built during the 7th century, possibly by Pope Leo II, who dedicated it to Saint Sebastian. Restored in 1923-1926 and again in 1993. Source: Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (accessed 1/31/2008)
