1450-1500Description
Close view of entry with lateral columns, detail of the left column and medallion; A rare example of 15th-century Lombard architecture commissioned by a private citizen, this building was created by enlarging a 14th-century construction, as can be seen from the irregularity of the plan. The architecture of the building and courtyard is so sophisticated and cultured that it has been suggested that the designer was Bramante himself. The building was restored in 1961. Though the 1961 restoration slightly obscured the facade, it enhanced the magnificent 15th-century portal. Source:
