Aerial view, from top of Lamberti Tower, close view of the Loggia del Consiglio; A UNESCO World Heritage site. The Piazza dei Signori contains the Palazzo del Commune (city hall). In 1100 Verona organised itself as a commune, although they were drawn into the long disputes between the Guelphs and Ghibellines.
